MANIFESTATION

mother is that your fist      knocking the underside     We
always had enough bandages     before disincarnate     telephonic

scream-whisper     phobic of boats     first bedtime in Georgia
hang on to the floor     a new religion would     disappear the flaws
hours     is that you straying through the spheres     Without the dog’s
breathing      you couldn’t sleep     responsible for     dream
shadows displace you into     his organs exploding     mauve wallpaper
assumed hysteria     icing under the tongue     is that you rattling the traces
baroque music backwards   And Bible study     always the wounded
never opposed the surgeries     anticipating the dissolution of
the friable self     an alcoholic     a preventative lecture     Negativistic
personality disorder manifests     in passive resistance to situations in
which Y feels threatened     is that you     murmuring into the trumpet
When Y should speak up Y shuts down     ribs that bend the light
you learn how to quilt     one germ can make a garden     eve-angelic
I’m sending the police     mind over     discorporeal   Avoidant
personality disorder means     overwhelming insecurity     of the patient
will set her face against her child   the burned-over district
do you want     hypnotic induction     some other drugs      matter over
to keep the story beautiful     narcissism     the pain saws epigrams
into your fabric     the great disappointment    notorious sequelae
no bone left to cast anchor    you’ll be sedated    gowned apparition
to desire nothing     Understand what I have wrought    collected momentum
you could coma     this trajectory     afterworld    is that you shifting
the shot glass     Y thinks her rage is a kind of telepathy
or     root trauma     have you ever seen     Lascaux cave horses
mind over     Is that your nails scratching     stag and aurochs
the deprivation regimen     always chasing reconstruction

DIVINING CHILD

I drift dimly
pitch & kick

sink
within the bight’s
shim & rip

pink rift
sickling yin
sight-skint

grim girl

(inviting it)
